Skiing & Snowboarding Gear
Affordable Ski Gear: When we first started skiing, we were on a tight budget and were so excited when we discovered the Arctix brand and could get everyone geared up for only $100 each!

Best Skis for Advanced Skiers 2026
- Best for Deep Powder – If you are planning on skiing the fastest lines in the deepest powder, in places like Niseko, Japan, or Revelstoke, Canada, then there is no ski better at floating than The K2 Reckoner 110.
- Best for Freeride – If you go to a ski resort looking for all of the off-trail bowls to blow down, chutes to stomp, and cliffs to throw yourself over, then the Volkl Revolt 104 is for you.
- Best for Off-Trail – When Freeride means cliffs, chutes, and jumps, Off-trail means those ungroomed areas of the resort, the glades, basins, and alpine bowls. If those are the areas of the mountain you enjoy exploring, then you should choose the Faction Dancer 3 Ski.
- Best for All-Mountain – Sometimes you do not know what conditions you are gonna get on the mountain, and if that is the situation you are in, then I would recommend getting yourself a pair of Black Crow Captis’.
- Best for Carving – Listen Groomer Skis can be some of the most expensive skis out there, so if you are looking for something that won’t absolutely break the bank, but still want to make the groomers the most fun they could ever be, then get yourself some Volkl Mantras.
- Best for Park Skiing– This ski is playful for all the butters you want to smear over knuckles, it’s light for ease of shifting and switch-ups, its swing weight is great for generating the momentum for stomping corks, and it’s overall just a blast to ski the Edollo 91 Ski.
- Best for Big-Air and Pipe – I had to separate this category and the Best for Park Skiing category because they are entirely different things. If you want a ski for riding rails and playing on the jibs the most creatively you can, then the Faction Prodigy 2 is for you, but if you want the best ski for big maneuvers on jumps and pipe, then the Head Oblivions are the ski for you.
- Best for Budget – The Honey Badgers are the least restrictive ski, meaning you can do whatever you want with them, carve, butter, jump, jib, send, anything! There is nothing this ski cannot do, which makes it one of the best skis for advanced skiers. Click here for your Line Honey Badgers.
- Best for Uniqueness – The Line Sakana is my favorite ski in the world. It is the little brother to the Line Pescado, but it rides very differently. And that is the best way to describe the Line Sakana…differently. With its huge shovel tip, you can butter differently than you ever have before, with its early-rise rocker, you can stomp cliffs in powder without fear of sinking, with its hard edge and swallowtail design, you can shred down groomers more creatively than you ever thought possible. So if you want a ski that is different, get some Line Sakanas.

Road Trip Resources
Outdoorsy
Renting an RV for your first road trip is a great way to dip your toe in RV travel and road trips. It’s what we did back in 2012, way before we ever considered living full-time in an RV and traveling. Last summer, my mom rented an RV last month through Outdoorsy and met us in Sandpoint, Idaho. She was very happy with her experience. The RV was clean, everything worked, and she even got to return it without having to dump it. Yeah, no luxury tax for her! Click here to book your RV.
Campervans Make Adventure Easy
Campervans are great for individuals or couples who want to be able to move quickly and easily on a road trip. A van is great because you don’t have to set up and break down plus you can skip campgrounds and stealth camp more easily.
CampScanner Gets You The Best Campsites
Struggling to find campsites? I get it. Campsites are getting harder & harder to reserve with so much demand in the summertime. (We might need to start gatekeeping this whole “outdoors” thing, cuz it’s getting ridiculous! lol) This is why it’s great to have a CampScanner membership!! CampScanner is a membership where you choose campgrounds you have your eye on, and it will send you notifications when someone cancels. This helps you score reservations at sold-out campgrounds in popular places like National Parks.
Save Money & Get Unique Experiences With A Harvest Hosts Membership
Harvest Hosts gives you access to 7000+ unique locations that allow RV camping! The yearly membership gives members unlimited access to stay at farms, wineries, breweries, and more.
