Who will I be traveling with?

You will be traveling with our nomads family of seven.  Read our About Nomads page to get to know us better. You may also be traveling with one or two other like minded families.  We limit our group sizes to a maximum of twelve people besides our own family.

What if I’ve never camped before?

Not a problem, you’re in good hands!  We promise to make your first camping experience as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.  The best part is that you won’t have to of any of the work of food prep, trip planning, or cleaning which means you’ll have a lot of time for R&R (hint: pack a good book).  If you’re worried about sleeping in a tent, we will be sending you an email with helpful tips to be comfortable in nature.

Do I need to bring gear for camping?

We will provide all camping gear except for a sleeping.  Other than that we got you covered for all things camping

Will I get showers?

Yes, but how often you get them depends on the trip.  At the very least, you will have a shower every three days.  See the itinerary of the trip you are interested in for info about campgrounds with showers.

What if I have little kids (under 5)?

We understand, we’ve been there.  We are happy to modify the adventures to give you options to make your experience with little kids a positive one.

Do I have to participate in all the adventures?

No, you will always have the option to either stay back at camp or sometimes to participate in an easier adventure.

How fit do I need to be?

So you’re carrying around an extra 5-20 pounds? No problem!  So you’re winded walking up a flight of stairs?  You might need to start the free 8-week conditioning course you get when you sign up.  Though you will always have the option to skip the adventures, in order to get the most out of your trip you should have moderate physical fitness so you can hike sometimes strenuous hiking trails, moderate mountain bike rides, and easy climbing routes.

What type of vehicle will you be driving me in?

We will be driving you and your family in our Chevy Express van which is our family vehicle.  The van will be trailing our Four Winds Class C motorhome which is what our family will be staying in during your trip to cook your meals.

What if I want to drive my own car?

No problem, on any road trip you are welcome to follow in your own vehicle to all the destinations.

Are all my meals included?

All meals are included.  We will cook you delicious, healthy homemade meals three times a day.  However, eating out at restaurants/ice cream/breweries/farmers markets are NOT included in price in order to keep things simple.  Each family will have their own tab whenever going out to eat or drink πŸ™‚

What type of food will I be eating?

Have you seen our Eat to Play course?  If you haven’t you should check it out to get a good idea of how we will be eating.  Overall, we eat healthy, whole foods (no processed foods).  We are strong believers in the warrior style diet which means we will be eating light breakfasts and lunches, with snacks throughout the day, but we eat HUGE dinners.  You are welcome to supplement this with your own food if you wish however we find this routine of eating to work really well when you spend your days adventuring.

Do I need insurance?

Yes, you are required to have your own medical insurance.  If you don’t have insurance check out World Nomads.
